SOHO 19960211
The Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) took this sequence of images in February 1996 with the Extreme Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope. Visible on the lower left side is an "eruptive prominence" or blob of 33,315 C (60,000 F) gas measuring more than 128,747 km (80,000 miles) long.
